History
History of the HSS Cup
The ACRO League was the main snooker league on the north shore for many years. In 1999, when ACRO Tyres could no longer sponsor the competition, Andy de Haan, director of Hardware & Systems Sales (HSS), stepped in to fill the void.
A snooker player in the ACRO League for a number of years, Andy was keen to see the competition continue.
"So many people get so much pleasure out of snooker. The general standard of play is pretty high and everyone seems to get on very well with each other," said Andy.

Scottish Cup

It was clear at the start of the 2000 HSS Cup, that a new trophy was required to be contested by the teams who finished in the fifth to eighth positions. Harry Anderson (pictured) took the opportunity to donate a trophy. As the trophy looked a little like the Scottish FA Cup, Harry called his donation the "Scottish Cup."
At the end of each season, the teams positioned in the fifth to eighth positions in the HSS Cup, play a knockout competition for the Scottish Cup. The team winning the Grand Final, keeps the Cup for one year and each player of the winning team receives a Scottish Cup Winners Medallion.
