Competition
Lightning Billiards is a handicapped billiard competition, played in a round robin format. It is comprised of four 1 day billiard Tournaments throughout the year with the 4 finalists of each Tournament going through to the Championship Round at the end of the year. The Championship Round will also be in a round robin format with the winners of each group competing in a semi-final and final round.

The round robin format will consist of four or five groups of four players, with each group drawn out of a hat prior to the competition start date.

Each player will be given a handicap (their starting score) and the winner of each game will be the first player to reach a score of 150.

The two players that finish on top of each group will go into the final playoffs. The two players that reach the final will be eligible for the allocated prizes on the tournament day. The four players that reach the semi-finals will also be invited to take part in the Championship Round held later on in the year and cannot compete in any further Lightning Billiards Tournaments for the year.

Eligibility
Any player is eligible to enter the competition unless they have reached the semi-finals of a previous Lightning Billiards Tournament in the current year.

All other entries received after the first 20 will be invited to attend the Tournament in person and register as a reserve (in case of a no-show on the day). Registered reserves will be guaranteed a place in the next Tournament to a limit of 16.

All players not reaching a semi-final place will be eligible to enter the next Tournament.
